Our charge is to provide the most effective and efficient treatment of the wastewater (sewage) which is discharged into the sewer system before it is released into Pipe Creek.


The current Wastewater treatment plant is an activated biological system and has a capacity of 1.2 million gallons a day dry weather flow and a 3.6 million gallons a day wet weather capacity. There are over 85 miles of sewers in the collection system, consisting of both sanitary and combined sewers, some sewers are over 100 years old.

The facility will be a 3 million gallon a day plant with a peak capacity of 6 million gallons. This will be done with an increase in aeration, clarification, disinfection and aerobic digestion. With funding in place the project should begin in late 07 or early 2008. These upgrades will help the City be in compliance with today's standards and to allow future growth of our great community.
